Cricket Without Boundaries

This video sums up what
Wendouree Cricket Club's
Cricket Without Boundaries
program is all about and explains
why we do it!
CWB is a program that was started by Natarsha Williams and some very committed and dedicated people from the Wendouree Cricket Club and the wider Wendouree Cricket Club family. The program started when we realised how much pre-loved cricket gear many families had accumulated over the years.
At Wendouree Cricket Club many of our families are fortunate enough to be able to provide our kids with cricket gear whenever they need it. As kids grow out of cricket gear quickly there is often much pre-loved cricket gear that is still in good condition that is no longer used by our kids.
CWB collects pre-loved cricket gear (and purchases new gear where needed to complete kits) and distributes the equipment to local indigenous children and those in remote communities to give them the opportunity to enjoy playing cricket.
In 2015 we sent a number of cricket kits to the remote indigenous community of Yuendumu in the Northern Territory.
In August 2016 we sent another huge amount of cricket gear including bats, pads, helmets and clothing to Darwin for distribution by NT Cricket to local indigenous communities.
The CWB team are currently busily collecting more cricket gear and planning our next project.
We have also sent cricket gear to Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
If you are a cricket club and are having a clean out of your training shed or renewing those junior team kits - then think of us! We'd be happy to receive any new or used cricket gear that is still in reasonable condition.
We are very excited to be able to send cricket kits to places like Sri Lanka. However, the cost of freight to send these kits overseas means that this is by far the biggest expense of this program. We raise funds during the year by selling sausages and other initiatives, but the club is always making up the shortfall.
We would be very grateful for any donations of cash that could be put towards the freight costs for this program.
If you, your family, friends or a local business would like to contribute to the CWB cause, please email Natarsha Williams at natscottw@gmail.com
